2:19 Tomorrow
When I escape this Nightmare,
I’ll be onto the next.
Nothing ever changes,
not for the better.
I wonder why I hope.
I wonder why I leave.
I guess it’s human nature,
wanting for something more.
A shame life is losing
this, that,
whoever you love,
all you love.
You lose until you’re alone.
Inside, at the least.
When life is all you have,
you lose that too.
You won’t even know
the last nightmare’s end.
Death is cruel like that.
You don’t get the satisfaction
of a hard-fought conclusion,
a deserved sense of bliss.
You, your struggle,
you only get forgotten.
Window Watching
Ninety-two shattered windows.
Looking for someone
in any one.
Gone over the photo
one thousand times.
Won’t stop me from looking
one thousand more.
Looking for that
ah-ha moment.
See? See!
There is someone
watching from the darkness
beyond the windows.
I was right all along -
That’s what I’ll say.
Need to keep looking.
I’ll find someone.
There’s always someone.
Where there are windows,
there are unwanted eyes
looking in on you
or out upon you.
