Incantation du Jour
Send me astray where I can fling my heart away.
I’ll meet you there atop the stairs far from here.
No I won’t cry over people come now long gone.
Around me flock Olympian gods so I won’t frown.
As lightning strikes I waken unto blazing skies.
The world below is upside down and I can’t swim.
Congas wail and birds they burst into bright stars.
Worldly dreams go skiing or else sink in frigid seas.
Icons we once worshiped at sweet dawn have died.
We must abide good laws passed in centuries past.
Mistake a cake for apple pie but don’t resort to lies.
Amalgamate for heaven sake or sacrifice identity.
Myopic as our lives may be liberty yet survives.
Musical scores still unwritten fade into remission.
Revisit springs when blossoms very early bloomed.
Act surly if you would or remain calm and be quiet.
Fan flames of rage whenever falsehood fosters hate.
The best to come will strum along an unknown path.
Be cautious for the minotaur might come back alive.
Implicit in my voice are choices I cannot quantify.
The hawk soars high with a lion in its copper claws.
I’m blessed by bliss while mortal fears disintegrate.
On open plain Osiris spies with only the best intent.
A signal comes though blurry eyes can’t see it yet.
So taxed the poor mete out their days in grave regret.
All empires plunge as history wills while others rise.
