My husband twists his wrists while his car flips into a land of snow-capped scotch pine trees. Hannah has to go to dance class. The carpet in the family room needs to be vacuumed. My husband puts on his headphones and beats his high score. David is crying. He’s been crying for hours. My husband says he’ll be there in a minute. The hammer is in the cabinet. The game console is in the family room. The television screen goes blank. My husband sits on the couch, his mouth open.
