Your Ghost
Why does your ghost attach itself to me
What raving aching delights it so
To lick at my fingers in fever’s chill
Billowing before my eyes in a fugue
How did your ghost get lodged in my marrow
Was I soulless and it sensed a vacancy
A place to reside possess obsess
The mirror shines back the curve of your face
Your noble nose and bilberry eyes
Will you devil me the rest of my days
So that neither of us needs be alone
But there are stranger places we call home
What lengths we traverse to finally return
