DarkWinter Press is excited to announce our latest release, the ekphrastic prose poetry collection Still Some Crazy Summer Wind Coming Through by Brian Michael Barbeito, available now in paperback and e-version for Kindle!
Synopsis:
Still Some Crazy Summer Wind Coming Through is a collection of prose poems and photography by Canadian poet Brian Michael Barbeito. The writings combine the themes of the natural world and metaphysics in a braided and interwoven journey seen through the phantasmagoric lens of a world that is both physical and spiritual. They are accompanied by vivid photographs taken by the author. This unique and inspiring collection includes an introduction by Cristina Deptula, the Executive Editor of Synchronized Chaos Magazine.
“These poems convey a general sense of fluid grace. Water and wind pass through as waves and breezes, sunlight waxes and wanes. Our lives change as the natural world does, and the feelings and emotions and stages of our lives are real but pass through us with time. Dreams, both literal nighttime dreams and flights of imaginative fancy, recur throughout the book, blurring the edges between the factual and observable and the mythical, and between the poetic speaker and his environment.”
Cristina Deptula, Executive Editor, Synchronized Chaos Magazine
