Life After Death by Lynn White

Life After Death

They were carefully stacked,

those magazines

“Woman’,

‘Woman’s Own’,

‘Woman’s Weekly’,

all those ‘women’

yellowing in piles.

‘Tit-Bits’ and ‘Reveille’

filled with films

and their Stars

long forgotten now,

hobbies abandoned,

recipes uncooked,

all stashed

as crumpled memories now.

A treasure trove,

line after line

to be read and re-read

like the wrinkles

of a lived in face.

Line after line

recording

the gold

of a well lived life.
